In Westminster Hall on 9th July 2014, Adam hosted a debate on caste discrimination. It was attended by Helen Grant, Minister of State for Sport and Equalities.
Caste discrimination affects a surprising number of people in the UK. Around 860,000 people in the UK are from the Hindu Dalit caste, sometimes known as the 'untouchable' caste, and their lives are often adversely affected by discrimination against them. In this debate, Adam raised the question of whether there is a 'hidden apartheid' in this country because of caste discrimination.
